October 2013 Citrus Lane (5 yo) Box Review

Kiddism of the Day: "E's machine gun farting again!"

Yay! Came home to my second Citrus Lane box on the front porch. Same brown box with pink mustache cutouts and Breast Cancer Awareness PSA. Took it home with fingers crossed I wouldn't be disappointed again.

I've gotta say, things were looking up since this package actually came with a "Hello" note, while my daughter's did not.

Let's break it down now. *insert beat box sound effects*

(Retail: ~$3.77)
3-Month Digital Subscription to Ladybug Magazine
(Retail: ~$11.31)
Yay! A book (sort of)! I was so disappointed when my daughter's box came with the 3 month digital subscription to Babybug Magazine, but no actual book to hold in our hands. I was so happy my son's came with an actual magazine. It was full of short stories and cutout paper dolls. The paper dolls were meh, but my son loves reading and spent the entire afternoon reading the stories. This was a total win!

(Retail: ~$18.95)
Oh. Em. Gee. I would have paid the $12 this box cost me for this item alone. This is the most adorable nightlight. I've always wanted one since I was a child, but every time I would place it in my cart, it would go back to the store aisles before I checked out. It just always seemed like an unnecessary luxury. But now that I got it through Citrus Lane, my son and I have been turning off all the lights and messing around with our faux starry night. The most awesome thing about it is it automatically turns off after 45 minutes! What a -battery- life saver!

(Retail: ~$1.80)
One word: YUM. These were absolutely delish. Organic, gluten-free, wheat-free, soy-free,  non-GMO ingredients, and ingredients I can actually pronounce. WOW. Just wow. My son has tons of food allergies and this snack blew me away. A snack that's healthy, something my son's not allergic to and actually yummy? Unheard of. I'll be looking out for these on the store shelves next time I'm out and about. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised with BOPS. :)

(Retail: ~$5.79)
What can I say? It's a harmonica. Heh. My son loves it. It got annoying after the first hour of playing, but I'll bear with it. Who am I to stifle a child's interests in the arts? Would like to point out that this harmonica is extremely well-made and of a high quality for a child's harmonica.

Overall, I was happy with my son's box. I loved everything in this one and was glad I took the plunge in purchasing two boxes instead of just one. If I had only bought my daughter's, I can honestly say I would never purchase a Citrus Lane box again. However, my son's box was so full of awesomeness, I'm thinking of surprising him with another in the near future. The items in his box total out to a retail price of $41.62. All this for twelve bucks? I really can't complain. ;D
